Champagne Faucheron-Gavroy is an independent wine house based in Tours-sur-Marne (near Reims and Épernay), run by Benoit and Cathy Faucheron. The family has had roots in the Montagne de Reims since the 16th century; Adonis Faucheron created the first champagnes in Verzenay in 1889, and the current name arose from the marriage of grandson Jean-Marie Faucheron to Bernadette Gavroy.
The vineyards cover about five hectares and include three hectares of grand cru in Verzy, Verzenay and Beaumont-sur-Vesle, plus two hectares of premier cru in Bisseuil and Avenay-Val-d'Or. The wine house works with 30 plots where the three traditional grape varieties Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are grown, following principles of sustainable viticulture.
As a récoltant-manipulant the house manages all stages from vine to glass, with ageing in vaulted cellars at 11°C. The range consists of various cuvées such as the Brut Réserve Grand Cru, the Blanc de Blancs (Chardonnay), Nature (Extra Brut), Rosé, Demi-Sec and vintages such as Adonis (2015). The Cuvée Authentique (75% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay) is aged for four years and is available exclusively in magnum (150 cl) with a dosage of 4 g/l. The house has been awarded gold and silver medals at, among others, the Concours Mondial Féminalise and the Guide Gilbert & Gaillard.
