Champagne Ernest Rapeneau is a family-owned house (maison) with its winery in Épernay and roots in Hautvillers.
- History: Ernest-Louis Rapeneau founded a wine trading business in Hautvillers in 1901. After the boundaries of the Champagne region were fixed in 1927, he began to specialise entirely in Champagne. His descendants expanded the business into a larger group that also includes the G.H. Martel and P. Louis Martin brands. The house has always remained in family hands and is now run by the fourth generation.
- Methods and style: The non-vintage Brut is the house's best-known wine, with notes of citrus, orchard fruit, minerality and brioche. Cellar master Christophe Rapeneau also made a limited Extra Brut with 6 grams of sugar per litre, in a run of 8,000 bottles.
- Cuvées: The range includes a Brut, a Premier Cru, a Blanc de Blancs, a Rosé and a Demi-Sec.
