Champagne Durdon-Bouval is a family business based in Vincelles (Marne Valley), where the fifth generation (Ludovic, Sandie and their children Antoine and Sipriane) runs the estate. The history of the estate is marked by generational transition and a strong commitment to sustainable farming, with organic certification since 2013 and Demeter biodynamic certification since 2023.
Vineyards and Method The estate has roughly 8 hectares of vineyards spread over villages such as Verneuil, Passy-sur-Marne and Barzy-sur-Marne, with soils of clay, loess and limestone. The grape varieties are Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The approach is aimed at minimal intervention in the cellar: no filtration is applied, there is no cold treatment, little or no sulphite and often no chaptalisation. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats (and sometimes oak barrels) to preserve freshness and pure fruitiness, with minimal malolactic fermentation.
Champagnes The range consists of Brut Nature and Extra Brut cuvées, including:
- Candide: Blanc de Blancs (Chardonnay), available as Brut Nature or Extra Brut.
- Vinicella: Blanc de Noirs (Pinot Noir and Meunier), with a minimum ageing of 36 months.
- Les Sablons: A plot-specific cuvée of Pinot Meunier.
- Les Clos: A plot-specific cuvée of Pinot Noir.
- Les Macarons: A plot-specific cuvée of Chardonnay.
- Vinicella Rosé: A rosé of Meunier and Pinot Noir.
