Champagne DE REKENEIRE-PETIT is a family champagne house based in Chézy-sur-Marne in the western Vallée de la Marne, between Reims and Épernay. The business is carried by four generations, with the current owners Léonie and Bastien de Rekeneire, who took over the estate in 1981.
Vineyards and Grapes
The wine estate covers an area of 12.5 hectares and has three grape varieties adapted to the local soil and climate:
- Pinot Meunier (60%)
- Pinot Noir (20%)
- Chardonnay (20%)
The vines are grown according to sustainable farming practices and bear the HVE label (Haute Valeur Environnementale). The harvest is by hand with selection of the best bunches, and the vines are trained in both Chablis and Guyot Simple.
Approach and Vinification
As a Récoltant-Manipulant (VR) the owners vinify and press their own grapes entirely on the estate, a process started in 2008. The three grape varieties are vinified separately in a temperature-controlled cellar. The champagnes are produced according to the traditional method to guarantee authenticity and quality.
Champagnes and Recognition
The house offers an extensive range of champagnes, including:
- Tradition Brut and Demi-sec
- Prestige
- Blanc de Blancs
- Rosé
- Millésime and Grande Sélection
The cuvées have received recognition several times, such as two stars for the Blanc de Blancs and one star for the Rosé in the Guide Hachette des Vins 2020.
