Champagne‌ Couvent-Lémery is a family business in Trélou-sur-Marne, located in the Marne Valley between Reims and Épernay, about 70 km from Paris. The house combines three generations of tradition with modern innovation, under the leadership of Edmond Couvent and his wife Sylviane.

History

The roots of the business lie with Mme Clarisse Couvent, who was the first to decide to bottle and sell her own champagne. Her grandson Edmond Couvent, who worked in the vineyards from his youth, took over the business and gave the impetus for the founding of Champagne Couvent-Lémery in 1992. Although the company was formally registered on 1 June 2006, it began vinifying its own cuvées earlier. In November 2022 Sylviane Lemery (née Couvent) was appointed manager, while Edmond left.

Vineyards and Approach

The estate owns 3 hectares of vineyards, classified AOC Champagne, spread over the sun-drenched slopes of Trélou-sur-Marne (02) and Festigny (51). The grape varieties are Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Edmond Couvent renewed the company's approach by grassing the rows for better biodiversity, acquiring a new press and completely renovating the wine cellar to create the unique "Style Couvent-Lémery".

Champagnes

The range offers a mix of traditional and specific-style champagnes, including:

Visitors can visit the cellar for a tasting; the location can be reached at 47 rue Kennedy, 02850 Trélou-sur-Marne.
