Champagne Coessens is a family grower estate (récoltant-manipulant) in Ville-sur-Arce, in the Côte des Bar (Aube), run by Jérôme Coessens and his wife Valérie. Almost all of the wines come from a single vineyard: Largillier.
- History: The family has grown grapes for six generations. Jérôme Coessens first worked for seven years at a major Champagne house and in 2003 took over his father's small estate, then called Les Faches. In 2006 he decided to make champagne under his own name; in 2009 he presented his first champagnes. Valérie has worked in the business since 2008.
- Vineyards and terroir: Largillier is a lieu-dit on clay-limestone soil, planted exclusively with Pinot Noir. Based on soil analyses, Coessens divided it into four parcels, whose differences are expressed in the cuvées.
- Approach and style: The estate has been certified organic since 2021. The cuvée Exogyre is a blend of several vintages made on the solera principle.
- Cuvées: All cuvées carry the Largillier name, including vintage wines, a Blanc de Noirs, a Rosé, a Brut Nature and Les Sens Boisés.
