Armand de Brignac is a prestige brand produced by the Cattier family in Chigny-les-Roses, on the Montagne de Reims.
- History: The "de Brignac" name was registered by the Cattier family in the late 1940s or early 1950s; according to Jean-Jacques Cattier, his mother chose it after reading a novel featuring a character of that name. At the start of the 21st century, Jean-Jacques and Alexandre Cattier decided to create a new prestige Champagne, and the first bottles of Brut Gold left the cellars in 2006. Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) bought the brand in 2014 and in 2021 sold half of the shares to Moët Hennessy.
- Methods and style: The wine is still made by Cattier. Pressing is done in a traditional Coquart press and only a small part of the first pressing is used. Riddling is done by hand, and the bottles age in a gated section of the cellar, 119 steps underground.
- Cuvées: The best-known hallmark is the opaque metallic bottle with a pewter Ace of Spades label. Alongside the Brut Gold, the range includes a Rosé, a Blanc de Blancs and a Demi-Sec.
