About Champagne Vély-Prodhomme
Vély-Prodhomme is a family house in Écueil, on the Petite Montagne de Reims, a few kilometres from Reims and Épernay. The family's passion for wine-growing goes back to 1913 and now spans five generations. The great-grandparents started the first bottlings in the village; after 1946 the grandparents developed the Vély Kirch champagne. The village of Ecueil
Écueil lies in the Petite Montagne de Reims, south-west of Reims (Marne department). The village has Premier Cru status. Vineyards: the soils here are lighter, with sand and clay over the chalk.
