About Champagne Richardot
Richardot is a family estate in Loches-sur-Ource, in the Côte des Bar. In 1946 Jean Richardot set up a wine-growing business in Essoyes, alongside a pressing service for neighbouring growers. His nephew Jackie expanded the pressing activity and in the mid-1980s built a larger building in the neighbouring village of Loches-sur-Ource. The village of Loches-sur-Ource
Loches-sur-Ource lies in the valley of the Ource, in the Barséquanais in the Côte des Bar (Aube department). The commune has no cru status. Vineyards: the slopes along the Ource rest on lime-rich Kimmeridgian marl. Pinot Noir is the dominant grape, complemented by Chardonnay.
