About Champagne Pierre Bertrand
Pierre Bertrand is a family business and récoltant-manipulant in Cumières, 2 kilometres from the abbey of Hautvillers. Pierre Bertrand decided to stop delivering his grapes to the cooperative and sold his first bottle of champagne in 1946. In 1956 he bought an estate with cellars; in 1982 his daughter Thérèse and her husband Bernard took over the business, and since 2010 grandson Bertrand has been in charge. The village of Cumieres
Cumières lies on the right bank of the Marne, just west of Hautvillers and opposite Épernay, in the Grande Vallée de la Marne (Marne department). The village has Premier Cru status.
