Thil is a small village in the Marne department, a short distance from Saint-Thierry and about nine kilometres north-west of Reims, in the Massif de Saint-Thierry. The village has no cru classification.

The Massif de Saint-Thierry is the northernmost part of the Champagne appellation. Vineyards and woods alternate here around villages closely linked to the coronations of the French kings in Reims. In this area meunier is the main grape, complemented by pinot noir and chardonnay, on soils with sand, clay and limestone. The champagnes are generally fruity and fresh.

The village lies on the tourist champagne route of the Massif de Saint-Thierry and the Vallée de l'Ardre. In Thil, Jonot Frères, among others, makes champagne.
