Champagne‌ Thierry Massin is an independent wine house (Récoltant-Manipulant) in Ville-sur-Arce, located in the Côte des Bar (Aube), France. The estate is known for its Pinot Noir-dominant champagnes and a respectful, natural working method.

History and Management The house was founded in 1977 by Thierry and Dominique Massin (brother and sister) to perpetuate the family heritage. The current generation, Thibault and Violaine Massin (children of Thierry and Dominique), run the estate; both are trained as oenologist and agronomist. The family attaches great value to biodiversity and respect for the terroir, with the motto "Hommes de Terre, Hommes de Vin" (People of the earth, people of the wine).

Vineyards and Terroir The estate manages 12 hectares of vineyards with a clay-limestone soil (Kimméridgien and Portlandien). The vineyard area is 70% Pinot Noir, complemented by Chardonnay (15%), Pinot Meunier (8%) and historic varieties such as Pinot Blanc, Arbanne, Fromenteau and Petit Meslier (8%). The planting density is 8,500 vines per hectare, allowing the roots to penetrate deep into the soil for optimal ripeness.

Working Methods and Sustainability Thierry Massin is certified HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and uses no herbicides. The vinification is particulier (plot by plot) to preserve the identity of each terroir. In the cellar the vinification is optimised by minimising handling and the use of inputs, with techniques such as gravity pressing, precision debourbage, low temperatures and co-inoculation for the malolactic fermentation. The champagnes often contain a high percentage of reserve wines (e.g. 82% in the Contrées) to guarantee consistency.

Les Épicuriens: Line focused on balance and diversity, including Confluence Rosé, Contrées (Blanc de Noirs Brut) and Arpents.
Les Éphémères: Vintage champagnes that capture the specific characteristics of the year, such as Millesime 2019 (91/100 points, Blanc de Noirs) and Millesime 2018.
Special cuvées: Including Instant M (Extra Brut), Les Oubliés - La Chevêtrée, and Coteaux Champenois (blanc, rouge, chardonnay).
