Tange-Gérard is a small champagne brand and family business in Soulières, south of Épernay in the Côte des Blancs, founded in 2009 by the couple Alain Gérard and Solveig Tange. Alain learned winegrowing from his mother, grandfather and uncle; Solveig, who is Danish, came to the region in 2003.
Vineyards The estate grows around 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, on plots in Soulières (chalk with loam) and Loisy-en-Brie (chalk with clay). The vines were mostly planted in the 1960s and 1970s.
Methods The estate has been certified organic since July 2024; in 2016 it obtained the Viticulture Durable en Champagne certification. The soils are worked with shallow ploughing instead of herbicides, and green cover crops have been sown since 2019. Annual production is around 10,000 bottles, which age in the cellar for longer than usual.
Champagnes The classic line, sold since 2009, includes Tradition, Noirs & Blancs and two rosés; since 2018 there has also been a line of plot champagnes, including Sollissandre Blancs and Sollissandre Noirs.
