Romelot-Poupart is a family house in Charly-sur-Marne, in the Vallée de la Marne. The Romelot family's history with the vine begins in the 18th century, shortly after the French Revolution. In the 1930s Lucien Romelot chose to devote himself mainly to wine-growing; in the 1950s his son Henri joined him and together they enlarged the estate. Henri's son Jean married Micheline Poupart in 1973 and together they created their own champagne: the first Romelot-Poupart harvest was bottled in 1974 and sales began in 1977. Their son Fabrice joined in 2005.
Vineyards The house farms 7.5 hectares in Charly-sur-Marne and Villiers-Saint-Denis. Fabrice practises sustainable viticulture (viticulture raisonnée); the grass between the rows is mown to limit the use of herbicides.
