Champagne Riotton & Fils is a family business based in Bergères-les-Vertus (address: 14 Rue du petit Orme), established as a company on 22 October 2003 (CIVC registration RC-30714-01) under the leadership of Patrice Riotton.
History and Working Group
The wine region has three generations of craftsmen. Paulette and Daniel Riotton (second generation) passed on their passion for winegrowing in the traditional Champenois style, after which their children Patrice and Laurence took over the running of the business to safeguard its values and craftsmanship.
Vineyards and Terroir
The family cultivates its own vineyards with an environmentally conscious approach across two major regions:
- Côte des Blancs: Known for its chalky soils.
- Valley of the Marne: Where other terroir variations contribute to complexity.
The diversity in terroir and grape varieties enables them to produce harmonious and gastronomic champagnes in limited quantities.
Range and Specialities
The house produces champagnes according to the méthode traditionnelle, with a focus on quality and limited runs. Well-known products are:
- Blanc de Blancs Millésime: Available in years such as 2008 (Prestige Extra Brut, ~€35.50) and 2012/2017 (Prestige, ~€29.50 - €64.50).
- Brut Grande Réserve: Ranging from €13.00 to €499.00.
- Demi-Sec Grande Réserve: (~€20.50).
- Ratafia Champenois: A traditional liqueur (~€20.50 - €27.50).
