Le Mesnil is the champagne brand of the UPR cooperative in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs; the house was founded in 1937. The vineyards of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger are 100% classified Grand Cru.
Vineyards The terroir is an east-facing slope with thin soil over pure chalk, which retains water well. Here Chardonnay expresses itself to the full.
Method Vinification takes place with careful control of fermentation temperatures, in modern facilities. The wines then rest in the cellar for at least three years. The vinothèque holds old vintages, the oldest of which were harvested in 1969.
