Champagne Lacuisse Frères is a family-run estate in Sermiers (Montagne de Reims), founded in 1960 by Julien Lacuisse and his sons. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of Premier Cru land, with a grape composition of 70% Pinot Meunier, 15% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay. The terroir is unique because of its subsoil of 45-million-year-old marine marls, clay and silica sand, instead of the typical chalk layer.
The working practices are sustainable and environmentally conscious, certified with HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and VDC (Viticulture Durable en Champagne). They use no insecticides, work mechanically, apply grass cover and use sexual confusion against pests. At disgorgement, no bisulphite is added, and all champagnes age for at least 4 years in the bottle.
The range is split into two collections:
- Classique: Accessible champagnes such as Tradition and Grande Réserve, round and fruity.
- Premium Nature: Brut Nature champagnes without added sugar or sulphur at disgorgement, such as the prestige cuvée Cosson and Blanc de Noirs Minéral.
