Champagne Charpentier is a family estate in Charly-sur-Marne, in the Aisne part of the Vallée de la Marne. It is run by Jean-Marc Charpentier, the eighth generation of his family to make wine here.
- Vineyards and terroir: The estate covers 24 hectares in 72 plots on the slopes around Charly-sur-Marne, including vineyards in Charly-sur-Marne and Saulchery.
- Approach and style: The estate has been farmed biodynamically since 2009 and is working towards organic certification.
- Cuvées: The main line is Terre d'Émotion. The Brut Vérité is mostly Chardonnay with some Pinot Noir; the Blanc de Noirs is an Extra Brut from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier aged for around 60 months on its lees. The range also includes a Pinot Meunier Zéro Dosage, a Brut Tradition, a Brut Rosé, a vintage wine and the Art-if-Ice demi-sec.
