Bertrand Charton is a family estate of artisan winegrowers in Méry-Prémecy, on the border between the Montagne de Reims and the Ardre valley. The family story begins in 1945 with Marcel, a winegrower and nurseryman in Vrigny; later came the Charton-Menu brand and, in 1978, Charton-Guillaume. Bertrand joined the business in 2013, and Marie-Caroline has worked alongside him since 2022.
Vineyards
- Méry-Prémecy (5.36 hectares) and Vrigny Premier Cru (0.50 hectares), partly planted by sélection massale.
- Plantings: 80% Meunier, 10% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay, on clay-limestone, clay, silt and sandy soils.
- Certified organic since March 2024 after three years of conversion; the first champagnes from organic grapes (2024 harvest) are still ageing in the cellar.
Champagnes
- J'ai trouvé mes Racines, L'Instant des Fusions and Les Vignes de Marcel.
- Les Souvenirs me reviennent (2015) and Les Soranges (2022).
