Champagne‌ Lequien et Fils is a family-run business based in Chavot-Courcourt (near Épernay), run by Philippe Lequien and his daughter Charlotte, who took over the business in 1995 from their father Max. The origins lie with Max, a former shepherd and road worker who fell in love with the region and began planting vineyards in the 1970s. Philippe expanded the business by installing his own pressing facilities, leaving the cooperative and building up a brand of his own, with the emblem of the sheep (recalling Max's past as a shepherd) appearing on the labels.

The vineyards cover 7.7 to 14 hectares (sources vary) and are spread over eight municipalities, including Chavot-Courcourt, Verneuil, Vincelles and Chavenay, on the Coteaux Sud d'Épernay and in the Vallée de la Marne. The estate practises cultivated (raisonnée) farming and is recognised as Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE). The focus is on sustainability, biodiversity and minimising chemicals, with specific emphasis on Chardonnay (50%), Pinot Meunier (40%) and Pinot Noir (10%).

The champagnes of Lequien et Fils are known for their balance, freshness and expression of the terroir. Well-known cuvées are:

Brut Tradition « La Rencontre »: a classic blend.
Blanc de Noirs « Les Galipages Noirs »: made from Pinot Noir, with aromas of red fruit and plum.
Rosé de Saignée « Les Flâneries »: a rosé that has won several prizes, including gold at the Concours Général Agricole.
Blanc de Blancs « Les Galipages Blancs »: pure Chardonnay, mineral and elegant.
Cuvée de Réserve « Les Gamins de Max »: a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Meunier and 10% Pinot Noir, with 4 years of ageing and a low sugar content.

Visitors can view the cellar and pressing facilities by appointment and taste three cuvées in the Bergerie. The family places great value on personal hospitality and sharing their passion for winegrowing.
